A rare little Edison model 0 bipolar utility motor that dates to c1895. As you can see from the advert these were intended for small scale professional use such as for Jewellers and Dentists. This model continued to be produced into the early 1900s, but this example is one of the very early ones with its large brass name plate and electromagnet configuration. Today these little motors are very desirable as they are ideal for converting to a fan.
Please see images as it is offered in good condition. It has been restored by someone in the past to a good standard and I like that they chose to keep the original worn finish rather than trying to overpaint it. The original black paintwork and gold detailing is therefore pretty much all gone but everything is present and turns freely. The front steel spindle is slightly bent (probably dropped in the past) and I will leave it to the new owner to straighten out, but it shouldn’t be too hard thankfully.
