This is a good example of a prewar early 80 line Hollerith Punch Card Machine that was retailed in the UK under licence by the British Tabulating Machine Company Ltd (who would eventually become ICL).
In 1902 Hollerith (later IBM) granted licencing rights to the Tabulating Company (later British Tabulating Machine Company Ltd also known as BTM) for his new hand equipment in order to help them expand their products into the UK and European markets. This punch card machine can be quite confidently dated to between 1929-1933. This is because BTM only moved into their Southampton Row address in 1929 and only began using the new 80 line rectangular hole cards (which this uses) at the same time. By 1933 IBM had introduced the new alpha-numeric system which quickly surpassed the purely numeric keys such as on this machine.
It is offered in good cleaned original working condition. The label is a little worn but still readable.
