The PDP/8 computer from Digital Equipment Corporation is considered one of the first commercially successful mini computers and helped revolutionise the computer industry. First brought out in 1965 as the Straight 8, the machine had a long shelf-life going through multiple versions during the late 60s through to the late 70s. This example is the PDP8/M which came out in 1972 and was very similar in architecture to the PDP8/E of two years earlier. For its day these were affordable enough for use by many small to medium sized businesses and I have come across countless people who fondly remember using them. There is plenty of info on the web about these iconic and desirable machines.
This example is in great shape overall and is working. The fan has been replaced at some time but otherwise the rest looks intact. It has plenty of spare slots for extra boards.
