This lovely early electro-magnetic generator dates to around 1870-1900 and would have been used for lecture and demonstration purposes. It bears a makers plate for W.A. Walton of Gloucestershire England although it follows a Siemens form. It is in good condition except that it is lacking its belt and the wheel arm has had a break rewelded and recoloured. Everything turns as it should. This has been repainted at some point.
When this was made electric motors were still in their early years and educational pieces like this would have helped inspire a whole generation of electrical engineers.
It measures 42cm high x 30cm diameter wheel and is very heavy.
Due to the weight international shipping is not included in the price of this item. Please contact for a quote.
