This classic radio by Pye Ltd of England dates to c1931 and it’s grill is an iconic piece of Art Deco radio design depicting Pye’s infamous rising sun motif. Constructed in walnut veneer this is known as their ‘transportable’ Model MM. A brass plaque on the inside shows this radio was restored back in 1975 to a good standard and I’ve just had it checked over and a fresh 240v lead added.
The case is offered in good original condition and the radio works well on both AM and LW. This radio has an internal aerial ( you can also attach an external aerial or device such as record player to use this as a speaker) allowing it to be fine tuned by positioning the set.
